The Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2025 took place from August 24 to 30, 2025, in Ahmedabad, India, at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex. India dominated the event, particularly the senior categories, securing the Men’s and Women’s Team Trophies and a total of 35 medals across all divisions, with a significant number of golds. Star Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won gold in the women’s 48kg category, setting new records in snatch, clean and jerk, and total lifts, and also qualifying for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
