Mao claims men’s +110kg gold

Samoa’s Sanele Mao’s better snatch effort helped him claim the men’s +110kg title on the concluding day of the Commonwealth weightlifting championships at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Naranpura, on Saturday.

Ahmedabad city will host three major international sports events, including the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship, this year, it was announced on 24th to 30th AUG 2026. Samoa’s Sanele Mao’s better snatch effort helped him claim the men’s +110kg title on the concluding day of the Commonwealth weightlifting championships at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Naranpura, on Saturday. Mao, who hoisted 181kg in snatch, set two records as he aggregated 401kg to win by 4kg.
